Make a Meaningful Difference with HFH Healthcare
Are you a compassionate, experienced Healthcare Assistant looking for a rewarding one-to-one role where your clinical skills and caring nature can make a real difference?
At HFH Healthcare, we're recruiting dedicated Complex Care Assistants to support a gentleman in his 60s with complex healthcare needs in his own home in Bermondsey.
Our client is living with a serious health condition and requires ongoing support, including tracheostomy care. He has previously managed much of his own care and values maintaining his independence and involvement in everyday decisions.
He communicates non-verbally and is able to mobilise, so we're looking for someone who is patient, attentive and respectful, taking the time to understand his preferences and support him at his own pace.
This is an opportunity to provide skilled, compassionate care while helping someone maintain comfort, dignity and control over their daily life.
About the Role
You'll provide dedicated, one-to-one care in our client's home, supporting his daily routines, wellbeing and evolving healthcare needs.
As his care requirements are being assessed, the role will involve working closely with HFH Healthcare's clinical team and following his individual care plan.
We have 12-hour day and night shifts available.
This is not a domiciliary care role. You'll support one client per shift rather than travelling between multiple homes.
Your Responsibilities
Providing personalised care and support with daily living activities.
Supporting tracheostomy care in accordance with training and the individual care plan.
Monitoring comfort, breathing and general wellbeing.
Recognising and responding appropriately to changes in condition.
Supporting mobility and independence where appropriate.
Learning and responding to the client's non-verbal communication methods.
Providing calm, compassionate support as care needs change.
Maintaining accurate care records and communicating with the clinical team.
All specialist interventions must be carried out in line with appropriate training, care plans and assessed competencies.
What We're Looking For
Previous professional healthcare or care experience.
Tracheostomy care experience is desirable.
A compassionate, patient and professional approach.
Confidence supporting adults with complex healthcare needs.
Excellent observation and communication skills.
Sensitivity to changing care needs and the importance of dignity and comfort.
A respectful approach to supporting independence and personal choices.
Reliability and the ability to work within a dedicated care team.
Experience in palliative care would be an advantage, particularly for candidates who understand the importance of providing reassuring, person-centred support.
Most importantly, we're looking for carers who can combine clinical awareness with genuine kindness and respect.
Why Join HFH Healthcare?
At HFH Healthcare, you'll work with one client per shift, allowing you to build trust and provide consistent, personalised care.
