We’re looking for an experienced, organised, and detail-focused Quality & Governance Officer to help us deliver safe, effective, and compliant care services. In this role, you’ll support the team to keep our operational and clinical standards consistently strong—so the people we support get the best possible outcomes.
The successful candidate will carry out audits, reviews, and quality checks across care services, spot opportunities for improvement, and work with colleagues to make sure actions are completed and embedded. If you’re passionate about improving outcomes—and enjoy turning evidence into practical next steps—this could be the role for you.
Job Description:
Plan and complete scheduled and ad hoc audits across care services, records, processes, and systems.
Review care documentation, risk assessments, support plans, medication records, incident reports, and other relevant evidence.
Assess compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, contractual standards, and best practice guidance.
Spot risks, trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities—then share clear, constructive feedback.
Produce accurate audit reports and maintain detailed records of findings, recommendations, and agreed actions.
Collaborate with operational and clinical teams to develop, implement, and monitor quality improvement action plans.
Follow up outstanding actions and provide assurance that improvements are sustained.
Support investigations into incidents, complaints, safeguarding concerns, and service quality issues where required.
Help prepare for internal reviews, commissioner visits, external audits, and regulatory inspections.
Monitor key performance indicators and contribute to quality and governance reports for senior management.
Champion a positive culture of learning, transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection, information governance, and health and safety requirements.
Experience and skills required:
Experience in quality assurance, compliance, governance, auditing, or service improvement within health and social care.
Knowledge of relevant UK health and social care regulations, quality standards, and best practice guidance.
Understanding of care planning, safeguarding, medication management, incident reporting, and risk management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate reports.
Strong attention to detail, plus the confidence to analyse information, spot themes, and assess evidence objectively.
Ability to manage a varied workload, meet deadlines, and work independently and as part of a team.
Confident using Microsoft Office and electronic care management or quality management systems.
Professional, approachable, and able to provide constructive challenge at all levels.
Commitment to person-centred care, dignity, independence, and positive outcomes.
Desirable:
Relevant qualification in quality assurance, health and social care, governance, auditing, or service improvement.
Experience working with CQC requirements, NHS commissioners, local authorities, or other external stakeholders.
Experience of undertaking root cause analysis and supporting quality improvement projects.
Previous experience in complex care, domiciliary care, supported living, or a similar care environment.
Benefits of working for HFH:
PAYE, no additional third-party administration.
Paid holiday.
Company pension scheme.
