Make a Difference in a Child's Life with HFH Healthcare
Are you an experienced, compassionate Healthcare Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting children with complex care needs?
At HFH Healthcare, we're recruiting dedicated Paediatric Healthcare Assistants to support children in their own homes across Sutton, Lewisham and Wimbledon (SW19).
Our young clients have a range of complex healthcare needs, including tracheostomy care, and require attentive, reliable carers who can provide safe, personalised support.
We're looking for individuals who bring patience, kindness and confidence to their work, helping children feel comfortable, understood and supported.
Tracheostomy experience is preferred but not essential. If you have a minimum of six months' care experience and are eager to develop your skills in paediatric complex care, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
You'll provide dedicated, one-to-one care to children with complex healthcare needs, supporting their comfort, safety and wellbeing at home.
Unlike traditional home care, you'll work with one client per shift, rather than travelling between multiple homes.
You'll work closely with families and HFH Healthcare's clinical team to deliver care tailored to each child's individual needs.
Available shifts:
Day shifts: 9:00am–5:00pm
Night shifts: 8:00pm–8:00am
Shift availability will depend on the individual care package.
Your Responsibilities
Supporting personal care and daily routines.
Helping maintain comfort, safety and general wellbeing.
Assisting with mobility and positioning where required.
Supporting tracheostomy care and other clinical interventions following training and competency assessment.
Observing and responding to changes in a child's condition.
Encouraging age-appropriate interaction, play and activities.
Building trusting relationships with children and their families.
Following individual care plans and maintaining accurate care records.
What We're Looking For
A minimum of 6 months' care experience – essential.
Previous tracheostomy experience – preferred.
Paediatric care experience is desirable.
A compassionate, patient and attentive approach.
Excellent communication and observation skills.
Confidence supporting people with complex care needs.
A commitment to safeguarding, dignity and person-centred care.
Reliability and availability for day or night shifts.
Most importantly, we're looking for carers who genuinely enjoy supporting children and are committed to helping them thrive in a safe, caring environment.
