Location: Potters Bar, EN6
Pay: £12.71–£16.00 per hour
Shifts: 12-hour shifts
Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities available
Are you an experienced Care Assistant who takes pride in providing outstanding, person-centred care?
At HFH Healthcare, we're looking for compassionate, reliable and skilled Complex Care Assistants to support a gentleman in his late 40s living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in his own home in the Potters Bar area.
Our client lives with his partner and their four cats. He enjoys a sense of humour, values his independence and likes to be fully involved in decisions about his daily life and care.
Although he requires significant physical assistance, he communicates verbally and knows exactly how he wants his care delivered.
We're looking for someone who is clinically attentive, calm, respectful and personable — someone who understands the importance of providing excellent care while respecting his choices, routines and home.
This is an opportunity to build a meaningful working relationship with one client and make a genuine difference to his comfort, dignity and quality of life.
What will you be doing?
Providing personalised care and support with daily routines.
Supporting tracheostomy care, ventilation and respiratory monitoring.
Assisting with suctioning, cough assist and nebuliser treatments.
Supporting RIG feeding and medication administration in line with training and care plans.
Providing catheter care, personal care and continence support.
Assisting with repositioning, hoisting and safe moving and handling.
Monitoring comfort, skin integrity and general wellbeing.
Recognising changes in condition and escalating concerns appropriately.
Working collaboratively with the wider care team and clinical professionals.
Always involving our client in decisions and respecting his preferences.
What are we looking for?
Previous experience supporting individuals with complex care needs.
Experience with tracheostomy care and respiratory equipment, or willingness to undertake specialist training.
Confidence working with someone who requires extensive physical support.
Excellent observation, communication and teamwork skills.
A calm, reliable and professional approach.
A strong commitment to dignity, consent and person-centred care.
Respect for our client's independence, privacy and household routines.
Comfortable working in a home with cats.
The right personality match is just as important as clinical experience. We're looking for someone who can combine attention to detail with warmth, professionalism and a good sense of humour.
