Have a calm nature, a good sense of humour and a passion for providing excellent care?
At HFH Healthcare, we're looking for compassionate, reliable and attentive Complex Care Assistants to support a friendly, easy-going gentleman with a spinal cord injury in his family home in the Hounslow/Feltham area.
Our client has a background in carpentry and plumbing and enjoys the simple things in life — a morning coffee, watching TV with his family, spending time with his two cats and occasionally visiting the shops in his electric wheelchair.
He has a fantastic sense of humour and enjoys a relaxed, peaceful home environment.
We're looking for someone who is gentle, patient and naturally considerate — someone who listens carefully, respects his routines and understands that providing great care is about making everyday life more comfortable.
This is an opportunity to build a genuine working relationship with one client and support him to enjoy life at home with his family.
What will you be doing?
Providing personalised care and support with daily routines.
Assisting with personal care, dressing and hygiene.
Supporting hoist transfers and repositioning alongside other carers, as required.
Providing bowel management support, including specialist procedures following training and competency assessment.
Supporting suprapubic catheter care.
Recognising and responding appropriately to signs of autonomic dysreflexia.
Assisting with mobility and occasional community outings.
Monitoring comfort, wellbeing and changes in condition.
Respecting our client's preferences, independence and personal space.
Working collaboratively with the wider care team and family.
What are we looking for?
At least 6 months' experience as a Care Assistant or Support Worker.
Availability to work more than 24 hours per week.
A calm, gentle and compassionate personality.
Someone reliable, attentive and an excellent listener.
A good sense of humour and a friendly, respectful approach.
Confidence supporting someone with significant physical care needs.
Willingness to undertake specialist training and competency assessments.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
A commitment to dignity, choice and person-centred care.
Comfortable working in a family home with cats.
The right personality match is especially important. Our client values carers who are calm, thoughtful and attentive, helping him feel comfortable and in control of his daily routine.
